Andy once had a go at his own pop stardom when he formed 'Paris'. They entered the 1981 Song for Europe with 'Have you ever been in love?'. Paris at that time was Andy, Nichola Martin, Iain Bairnson and Graham Broad.
The song lost to Bucks Fizz's 'Making your mind up' of course but then Andy had written that too! Paris song was released as a single and although receivng airplay, the song didn't become a hit until it was covered by Leo Sayer later on.
Paris recorded three other singles, though without Iain, 'No getting over you', 'Censored' and 'Another sad affair'. They didn't become hits either, and perhaps as Andy might say, he decided to stop ruining his own career and go and ruin other peoples instead!
The records were, however, top class and are well worth checking out if you come across them.
